Detailed description

The CYY-W660 is a wireless, large-screen liquid metal temperature meter specifically designed for rapid measurement of molten metal in metallurgical and casting applications. Part of the wireless large-screen pyrometer series, it combines a handheld transmitter with a receiver-equipped large display to form a complete pre-furnace temperature measurement system.

In foundries, the temperature of molten iron, steel, or other metals before pouring is a critical parameter for controlling the melting and casting processes. The CYY-W660 solves this by enabling operators to measure temperature at the furnace and wirelessly transmit results to a large display positioned conveniently for managers and workers to monitor together.

The CYY-W660 can be used to measure the temperature of molten iron, steel, copper, aluminum, and other molten metals. In international terms, these applications are typically categorized under foundry temperature measurement, molten metal temperature measurement, or wireless pyrometer systems.

No need to run signal cables between the gun and the display: This is the key difference between the CYY-W660 and wired large-screen systems. In wired setups, cables connecting the measuring gun and screen can be inconvenient in production environments. The CYY-W660 uses wireless data transmission at 470/490 MHz between the handheld device and the display, with a published range of up to 300m. In real-world factory conditions, effective range typically falls between 3-30m, depending on obstacles and electromagnetic interference.

Wireless design enables flexible system deployment, ideal for factories with: large furnace areas, multiple measurement points, significant distances between furnaces and observation points, environments with high-power cabling, or those using medium-frequency induction furnaces.

Large 5-inch display with character height of approximately 120-128mm ensures easy readability in manufacturing environments. The screen can be positioned up to 10m from the measurement point along a direct line of sight and at an elevation of about 2-4m, providing a clear temperature display area for both operators and supervisors.

The CYY-W660 can store over 1.000 groups of historical temperature data. Users can query stored data; the system also supports printer options and computer connectivity for data processing. In foundries, temperature data can be used to: verify measurement results, monitor melting processes, compare temperatures across batches, track operator measurement procedures, and support pre-pouring process control.

Fast measurement within 3-5 seconds: Insert the probe into molten metal. The typical measurement time is 3-5 seconds. When the measurement beep ends, the operator removes the probe from the molten metal. The device then wirelessly transmits the stable temperature value to the large display. Do not leave the probe in the molten metal for more than 7 seconds to avoid damaging the thermocouple paper tube.

Electromagnetic Interference Resistance: The CYY-W660 is designed with EMI resistance suitable for metallurgical environments. According to the manual, the device can perform measurements inside a medium-frequency furnace while it is powered on, without needing to cut off the furnace power. This is a practical feature for factories using medium-frequency induction furnaces.

CYY-W660 Temperature Measurement Process: Step 1 – Melting: Metal is melted in an induction furnace or melting device. Step 2 – Preparation: The operator uses a handheld meter with the appropriate thermocouple probe. Step 3 – Measurement: Insert the probe into the molten metal following the correct procedure. Step 4 – Wireless Transmission: Once measurement is complete, the temperature value is transmitted wirelessly to CYY-W660. Step 5 – Display: The large screen displays and holds the temperature value. Step 6 – Data Storage: Results are saved in the system for later retrieval.

CYY-W660 is suitable for: gray iron foundries, steel mills, steel foundries, copper and copper alloy industries, aluminum foundries, induction furnace facilities, plants requiring remote temperature monitoring, and production lines needing pre-pouring temperature checks.

The device is CE certified with a fully English control panel, meeting international standards. Also known as: Wireless Large Screen Pyrometer for Molten Metal Temperature Measurement, Wireless Metallurgical Temperature Gauge, Wireless Large Screen Pyrometer, and Wireless Molten Metal Temperature System.
