CYY-W600 Large-Screen Molten Steel Thermometer

The CYY-W600 is a large-screen molten steel temperature meter designed specifically for the steelmaking and steel production industries. This device belongs to the large-screen molten steel pyrometer series, utilizing an immersion thermocouple method to measure molten steel temperature with high accuracy and fast response.

In steel mills, controlling molten steel temperature is critical to final product quality. The temperature must stay within an optimal range to ensure proper fluidity for mold pouring, minimize casting defects such as gas porosity, hot cracking, and shrinkage, and maintain the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the finished steel.

The CYY-W600 is designed for fixed installation near the steel furnace, enabling operators to read molten steel temperatures remotely via a large LED display. The 5-inch red LED screen features characters approximately 120mm tall, ensuring clear visibility of molten steel temperatures even in high-brightness, high-temperature steel mill environments.

The CYY-W600 measures molten steel temperature at the furnace, ladle, pouring spout, and pre-pouring areas. It provides real-time readings on-site and automatically saves the final temperature value upon completion of the measurement.

CYY-W600 Liquid Steel Temperature Measurement Procedure: 1. Mount the gun and connect the compatible thermocouple for liquid steel. 2. Power on CYY-W600; the device is ready to measure. 3. Insert the probe into the liquid steel to the recommended immersion depth. 4. Wait for the end-of-measurement beep (3-5 seconds). 5. Remove the measuring gun from the liquid steel. 6. The liquid steel temperature is displayed on the large screen for reading.

The CYY-W600 can also measure molten iron, copper, aluminum, and other molten metals — a versatile solution for foundries that need to monitor multiple types of molten metal.

The device features robust electromagnetic interference (EMI) immunity. According to the technical manual, the CYY-W600 can measure molten steel temperature even while the medium-frequency induction furnace is powered on, without requiring a power shutdown. This capability offers significant practical value for steel mills using electric induction furnaces.

The CYY-W600 is designed for wall mounting, with a wired connection to the distance measuring gun at approximately 2,5m (configured as 1,6-3,3m). This setup suits steel plants that need a fixed temperature measurement point near the furnace, allowing operators and supervisors to view readings without standing close to the device.
